Singer/songwriter H.E.R. to headline Charm City Live Music Festival 2023

BALTIMORE, MD. (Thursday, June 22, 2023) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott, Baltimore City Recreation and Parks Executive Director Reginald Moore, and Downtown Partnership of Baltimore President Shelonda Stokes announced that singer/songwriter and musician H.E.R. will headline the City's Charm City Live music festival this year.

"Charm City Live is quickly becoming a highlight of Baltimore's public events calendar and we could not be more excited about its return this year," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "We are thrilled to be welcoming H.E.R. to the stage at War Memorial Plaza as the headliner for this year's festival. On the heels of AFRAM, we're continuing our push to make Baltimore's summer events free, accessible, and welcoming for every single resident in our great city."

Charm City Live is a one-day free festival at the epicenter of food, family, and fun that celebrates Baltimore's vibrant culture with good food and good vibes.

"We're really excited about the return of Charm City Live this summer. The City of Baltimore is pleased to provide yet another venue for its residents to come together to experience great music, food, and fun," said Baltimore City Recreation and Parks Executive Director Reginald Moore. "This family friendly festival features activities for attendees of all ages, and also gives our local vendors an opportunity to showcase their talents. We're thankful for our partners who make this event a reality."

The festival will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. outside of City Hall on War Memorial Plaza and will feature a kid zone, local bites from the City's best eateries, community resources, and other treats for all residents and visitors to enjoy.

"The Charm City Live festival is not only a testament to the rich cultural heritage and artistic spirit of Baltimore, but it also serves as a catalyst for economic growth," said Downtown Partnership President Shelonda Stokes. "By strategically choosing a location in the heart of the city, where a concentration of restaurants, retail establishments, and hotels thrive, we aim to maximize the festival's positive impact on the local economy."

As a result of the event, residents can expect the following road closures beginning Friday, August 25, 2023:

• Gay & Baltimore Streets to Gay & Saratoga Streets

• Lexington Street (from Guildford Avenue to President Street)
• Fayette Street (from Guildford Avenue to Gay Street)
• Saratoga Street (from Gay Street to Guildford Avenue)

Paid parking is available at the following parking garages and lots. Prices will vary.
