Call 311 Now to Register for the Mayor's Fall Cleanup!

BALTIMORE, MD. (Monday, September 26, 2022) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell announced the Mayor's Annual Fall Cleanup. Residents are encouraged to organize now and come together to clean and beautify Baltimore's neighborhoods on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Mayor Scott will visit and lead community cleaning efforts at three different locations throughout the city. During these visits, the Mayor will be joined by a team of DPW solid waste workers and volunteer-led cleaning crews.

Mayor Scott's Fall Cleanup will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Community associations, block leaders, and local organizations can call 311, visit https://mayor.baltimorecity.gov/sign-form-day-service, or sign up through Facebook to register their cleaning activities and volunteer. During this citywide day of cleaning, individual residents are also encouraged to clean where they live by collecting loose litter around their properties, alleyways, and curbsides.

"Autumn is fast-approaching, and we are going to make this year's fall cleanup bigger than ever," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "This is an important day of service, where neighbors not only work together to clean and beautify where they live, but they also roll up their sleeves to assist other communities. Through teamwork and commitment to our communities, we can keep Baltimore clean."

Communities that register their cleaning activities can request that City trucks visit their locations to collect debris. In addition to calling 311 to register cleaning activities, residents can also visit balt311.baltimorecity.gov. Registration will close Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Individual residents participating in cleaning around their neighborhood are encouraged to register as well but will be required to put their bags out for regular trash collection.

All residents can request stormwater credit applications when calling 311 to register their cleaning activities.

Any resident that signs up for individual or blockwide cleaning is eligible to get up to 5 bags. Community groups that register can get up to 50 bags. Those registered for the Fall Cleanup can begin picking up bags on Monday, October 3. Bags will be distributed at 2840 Sisson Street, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday- Saturday; 111 Kane Street, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday- Friday. Participants should be ready to provide registration information in order to receive their collection bags.

"During the Mayor's Cleanups, residents and volunteers from throughout the City come together to tackle those trouble spots, often hidden, and to make sure that they don't become problems again," said Jason W. Mitchell, Director of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works. "This is why we have our seasonal cleanups. When we work together, we make Baltimore not only cleaner, but stronger."

Excess trash and debris can be bagged and placed out with weekly scheduled trash collections for pickup. Residents can also bring bagged trash to the Residential Drop-Off Centers. Participants who are disposing of collected debris at the Residential Drop-off Centers must follow the drop-off centers' guidelines, which do not allow commercial vehicles.

Unfortunately, no bulk trash items will be collected, and roll-off dumpsters will not be distributed as part of this year's Fall Cleanup.
