Baltimore’s Public Confederate Monuments Report

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the release of a report on the findings of Baltimore City-owned public Confederate Monuments that lays the groundwork to address the recommendations for their future in the City.
The report was submitted by the Mayor’s Special Commission to review Baltimore’s Confederate statues and historical assets.
The commissioners evaluated four sculptures:
•Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Mount Royal Avenue near Mosher Street;
•Confederate Women’s of Maryland, located at Bishop Square Park;
•Roger B. Taney Monument, located at Mt. Vernon Place;
•Lee & Jackson Monument, located in Wyman Park Dell.
